Do you have the proper view of your trials, responsibilities, goals, and strength? Measure yourself against God’s standard in Colossians 1:25-29.
1. Proper View of His Trials (Colossians 1:24)
• Paul used it to help others.
- By spreading the gospel to the unsaved
- By challenging other believers
• Paul used it to help himself.
- To relate to Christ and His suffering
- To be like Christ
2. Proper View of His Responsibilities (Colossians 1:25-27)
• My calling comes from God. (Colossians 1:25; 2 Corinthians 5:10)
• I have to please only God. (2 Corinthians 5:9)
• My calling is for the benefit of others. (Colossians 1:25)
• My calling is to proclaim God’s Truth. (Colossians 1:25-28)
3. Proper View of His Goals (Colossians 1:28)
• Share Christ with everybody.
• Teach God’s Word to everybody.
• Help everybody become Christ-like.
4. Proper View of His Strength (Colossians 1:29)
• Labor fervently in the ministry. (1 Thessalonians 2:9)
• Rely exclusively on the power of God. (1 Corinthians 15:10; 1 Timothy 4:10)
