Parents are not to exasperate their children. (Colossians 3:21; Ephesians 6:4)

• What are the meanings of the words in this passage?
1. “Provoke” means “to anger or enrage.”
2. “Exasperate” means “to make resentful, irritate, or excite to anger.”
3. “Lose heart” means “to discourage, lack motivation, cause to feel like giving up.”

• What things provoke your child?
1. Overprotection (eg., Laban with Leah and Rachel)
2. Overindulgence (Proverbs 13:24)
3. Favoritism (eg., Isaac, Rachel, and Jacob)
