Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Savior. Did the resurrection of Jesus Christ really happen? What proofs exist to support His resurrection? To answer this question, let's examine 1 Corinthians 15:1-8.
1. The Testimony of the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
- The Old Testament prophesied of His resurrection. (Hosea 6:2; Psalm 16:10)
- The New Testament testified of His resurrection. (Mark 16:14; Luke 24:36-49; John 20:19-29; Acts 10:41)
- Jesus predicted His resurrection.
2. The Testimony of the Eyewitnesses (1 Corinthians 15:5-8)
3. The Testimony of the Church Itself (1 Corinthians 15:1-2)
4. The Testimony of Christians Today (1 Thessalonians 4:14; Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 6:14)
- He answers believers' prayers. (Psalm 34:17; John 9:31; 1 John 5:14)
- He convicts believers of sin. (John 16:7-15)
- He gives believers victory over sin. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
