God’s Commands to Parents

June 20, 2021 Speaker: Michael Knight Series: Current Sermon

Topic: Parenting Passage: Ephesians 6:4

God's Word is the basis and standard for counseling, correction, and commendation. As parents, we need to base our parenting on the Scriptures. This sermon focuses on the responsibility of parents to train their children’s hearts.

Alarming statistics:
• Six out of ten kids raised in church leave during their early adulthood years.
- From 2011, Tim Challies’s blog: “I Am Unalarmed”

• Seven out of ten Protestants ages 18-30 quit attending church by age 23.
- LifeWay study

• Ninety-four percent of Christian teens leave after high school.
