The Royal King

The psalmist addresses those who rebel against God. Are you rebelling against God? Psalm 2 speaks to all who resist and rebel against the King.

1. Ridiculous Rebellion (Psalm 2-1-3; Revelation 19:14-16)
• Their plan is sure to fail.
• They are fighting against Yahweh.
- Hebrew = Messiah
- Greek = Christ
> Messiah = God’s handpicked King!
> God speaks to the prophet. The prophet anoints the king.
• They think they can win.

2. Divine Decree (Psalm 2:4-6; Acts 13:28-33)
• He mocks them with laughter.
• He terrifies them with anger.
• He answers them with power.

3. Kingly Confidence (Psalm 2:7-9; Revelation 2:25-27)
• Confident in Attitude
• Confident in His Faith
- The Davidic Covenant (2 Samuel 7:14)
• Confident in His Ability

4. Reasonable Response (Psalm 2:10-12; Acts 4:23-31)
• Serve and Rejoice in Yahweh
• Submit to the King and be Blessed
• Second Chances Do Not Last Forever
