Making the Lord Your Portion

Are you satisfied in Christ and in Him alone? Does Christ have first place in your life? Have you made Christ your portion? What does making Christ your portion mean? Let’s seek the answers from Psalm 119:57-64.

1. The Meaning of Making the Lord Your Portion
• The Lord is my inheritance, and I’m satisfied in Him and Him alone. (John 21:15-17)
• The Lord is all I need, and the One I long to please.

2. The Results of Making the Lord Your Portion
• You will be determined to keep His Word. (Psalm 119:57)
- “If the Lord is your portion, keeping God’s Word is your promise.”
• You will seek God’s favor with all your heart (Psalm 119:58)
- “If the Lord is your portion, you will seek God’s pleasure.”
• You will turn your feet to follow His Word. (Psalm 119:59)
- “If the Lord is your portion, you will be careful to follow God’s plan.”
• You will obey God’s Word without delay. (Psalm 119:60)
- “If the Lord is your portion, you will obey God promptly.”
• You will not forget God’s Word. (Psalm 119:61)
- “If the Lord is your portion, you will recall God’s Word during times of pressure,”
• You will be thankful for God’s Word. (Psalm 119:62)
- “If the Lord is your portion, God’s Word will be your praise.”
• You will hang out with those who keep God’s Word. (Psalm 119:63)
- “If the Lord is your portion, godly friends are your people.”
• You will long to learn more of God’s Word. (Psalm 129:64)
- If the Lord is your portion, God’s Word is your passion.”
